Archive Documents
Old fragile historical documents need to be handed delicately. By scanning and storing digitally you will preserve and keep these historical documents in a safe, secure and retrievable environment.
Adelaide Scanning will take care to preserve precious historical documents. Scanning will be handled with the utmost care on our flat bed Xerox 700 scanner. On the glass capturing is a time consuming process, but necessary when handling fragile or one off materials.
We scan images at a minimum 300 dpi in PDF or TIFF format. Documents are scanned in black+white, and colour using sharpening and colour correction techniques to match the original item at time of scanning.
Some materials can be scanned on our Kodak i5200 document fed scanner which is a high volume unit, scanning double sided images, in colour. This equipment requires documents to be unbound and is suitable for loose papers, or books which can be unbound for the purpose.
We offer printing solutions to reproduce historical documents which may have become damaged or deteriorated over time, such as:
- Hand written letters or journals
- Family History Books
- Historical meeting minutes or records
- School Annuals/ Year books
- Vintage Posters
